Winter: South West Florida offers some superb winter fishing. What You can expect to catch on your charters are. Lots of Sea Trout, Redfish, Sheeps Head and the occasional Snook depending on water temperatures. There is also a lots of by catches of Ladyfish and Jack Crevalle.
Spring: This the most productive time of the year. The Snook bite is at its best, on a half day charter you can expect to catch over thirty Snook. Not to mention countless Sea Trout and Redfish. Also many of our other migratory fish are passing through for their run north. Species such as Spanish Mackerel, Tripletail and Cobia. There is also lots of by catch of Ladyfish Jack Crevalle and Bluefish.
Summer: This is the best all around time to fish here in South West Florida. Just about all of our major Species are here and willing to bite. This is the time of year when the main attraction makes his appearance, the Tarpon. Also the Snook fishing is world class, plenty of Redfish, Sea Trout and the Mangrove Snapper Start moving in from offshore. For the anglers that like to take a few fish for dinner Snapper is by far the best around to eat. There is plenty of other species to catch like Ladyfish, Spanish Mackerel, Jack Crevalle and Cobia.
Fall: This is known as Redfish Season. During the fall months large schools of Reds roam the flats and Mangrove shorelines. This is also one of my favorite times to target some of the biggest Tarpon Charlotte Harbor has to offer. Lets not forget the Snook, fall is one of the best times also for trophy Snook. Snook do not like the cooler winter water temps and will be putting on extra fat reserves to get them through winter. Also the Mangrove Snapper fishing will be good until the water starts to cool down. There is also plenty of Ladyfish, Jack Crevalle and other species to keep anglers busy.
We recommend booking your charter early to make sure you get the date you want with Captain Dave.
