Back Bay Xtremes Fishing Charters Charlotte Harbor, Punta Gorda, Florida
Tripletail: Is a Spring fish that is in Charlotte Harbor for a short period of time, how ever this species has become very popular with my clients to the point that I have a call list when they start to show up.
The rounded second dorsal and anal fins are similar in size and along with a rounded tail fin, give the fish its name. The bases of those fins have scales.
Frequently associated with structure.
Found in Florida primarily during spring, summer and fall.
Forida State Record Tripletail:
40.8 lbs.
Often found near structure and when hooked will seek to escape by heading hard for shelter.
